The foreground section is a tribute to the indissoluble bond between Naples and its sea. The base hosts the elegant inscription "NAPOLI," framing the calm waters of the gulf, dotted with characteristic boats and sailboats. Just above, the architectural profile of the lower city comes to life: the eye is immediately captured by the majesty of the Basilica of San Francesco di Paola in Piazza del Plebiscito with its unmistakable colonnade, surrounded by domes, historic buildings, and the silhouettes of the famous city castles overlooking the coast.
BACKGROUND: The Embrace of Vesuvius and Vomero Hill.
The back layer creates a scenic and warm atmospheric frame. On the right, the iconic, powerful, and reassuring silhouette of Vesuvius dominates unchallenged, a millennial guardian and eternal symbol of the city. On the left, the horizon rises following the gentle slope of Vomero Hill, culminating in the proud, crenelated, and detailed profiles of Castel Sant'Elmo and the Certosa di San Martino.
